Installation Guide

Pick the method that suits you — all three get Oravo running on your PC. Method 1 requires no security changes at all and works for most users.

🟢 Recommended — no security settings need to change

Windows Defender stays on the whole time. You only need to tell your browser and Windows SmartScreen that you trust the file — both warnings are normal for apps without a digital certificate downloaded outside the Microsoft Store.

Download the installer

Click the Download button on this page. Oravo_1.3_Setup.exe starts downloading.

Browser warning — "This file may be harmful"

Your browser will flag the file because it is an unsigned .exe. This is completely normal. Here is exactly what to click:

Chrome / Brave: click the arrow ▾ next to the download → Keep → Keep anyway.
Microsoft Edge: click ... (three dots) on the download bar → Keep → Show more → Keep anyway
Firefox: click Keep File in the downloads panel

The file now sits safely in your Downloads folder. Defender is still fully on — nothing has changed yet.

Run the installer

Open your Downloads folder and double-click Oravo_1.3_Setup.exe.

Windows SmartScreen — "Windows protected your PC"

This blue screen appears because Oravo does not yet hold a Microsoft code-signing certificate ($300–500/yr). It is not a virus warning — SmartScreen flags any app that has not paid for the certificate.

Click "More info" (small link below the warning text)
A "Run anyway" button appears — click it
The setup wizard opens normally

Complete the setup wizard

Click Next, accept the licence, choose an install location, then click Install. When finished click Finish.

🎉 Done! Oravo appears on your Desktop and in the Start menu. Defender was on the entire time — nothing to re-enable.

⚠️ Use only if Method 1 fails — re-enable Defender immediately after

If Defender quarantines the installer even after clicking "Run anyway", the safest next step is to turn off real-time protection just long enough to install, then turn it straight back on.

Download the installer

Click Download and accept the browser warning by choosing Keep / Keep anyway (see Method 1, Step 1 for per-browser clicks).

Turn off Real-time protection

Press Win, type Windows Security and open it
Click Virus & threat protection
Click Manage settings
Toggle Real-time protection to Off
Click Yes on the UAC prompt

⏱ Act quickly. Windows automatically re-enables real-time protection after a short delay. Run the installer immediately after this step.

Run the installer

Double-click Oravo_1.3_Setup.exe from your Downloads folder and follow the setup wizard to completion.

Re-enable Real-time protection — do this now

Return to Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Manage settings and toggle Real-time protection back to On.

✅ Your PC is protected again. Never leave real-time protection off any longer than absolutely necessary.

🔒 Cleanest option — Defender stays fully on; only the installer is whitelisted

Instead of turning Defender off entirely, you tell it to ignore just the one installer file. Everything else on your PC remains protected. This also works for third-party antivirus (Avast, Norton, Kaspersky, Bitdefender, McAfee, etc.).

Download the installer

Click Download and accept the browser warning. Note the exact save location — usually C:\Users\YourName\Downloads\.

Add a file exclusion

Windows Defender:

Open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection
Click Manage settings
Scroll to Exclusions → click Add or remove exclusions
Click + Add an exclusion → choose File
Browse to Downloads, select Oravo_1.3_Setup.exe → click Open

Third-party antivirus (Avast, Norton, Kaspersky, Bitdefender, McAfee …):

Open your antivirus → find Exclusions, Exceptions, or Whitelist in settings → add the full path to Oravo_1.3_Setup.exe. Every major antivirus has this feature.

Run the installer

Double-click Oravo_1.3_Setup.exe. Because the file is excluded, your antivirus will not block it. Follow the setup wizard to finish.

Remove the exclusion (recommended)

Go back to Exclusions, click the three-dot menu next to Oravo_1.3_Setup.exe and choose Remove. Installation is complete — the exclusion is no longer needed.
